You go to pay for your ebay item that you just “won,” and you change the payment method to credit card. If you then try to send a message to the seller (as part of the payment), paypal switches your payment method back to bank account from credit card. If you don’t catch it, you end up paying from your bank account.

I hope you got that. If not, back up and read it again. An echeck usually takes THREE TO FOUR BUSINESS DAYS to clear. What are business days? They are days other than weekends and holidays. So your paypal echeck could take 7 days to clear if you add in a three day weekend.
