driver assignment control

driver assignments

choose the right workflow for planned jobs, open offers, and urgent coverage

E-BookNow gives company administrators more than one way to place a driver on a reservation. The right assignment method depends on whether the company wants drivers to respond to an offer, already knows which linked driver should receive the trip, or needs to place an outside driver immediately.

Every method remains connected to the reservation record, driver status, vehicle information, operational history, and notifications. This gives dispatchers one place to see who was invited, who accepted, who is currently assigned, and whether a previous assignment was replaced.

For TLC work, assignment controls can verify driver and vehicle eligibility before the reservation changes. Flash assignment is specifically designed for urgent ad-hoc coverage: the administrator enters the driver name, vehicle plate, TLC license number, email, and driver amount, then completes a live TLC check before the final assignment action becomes available.

Four ways to move a reservation into driver control

Use the workflow that matches the amount of choice, speed, and verification required for the trip.

Offer-based assignment

Send the reservation to one or more eligible drivers. Drivers review the trip and payout, accept or decline, and dispatch selects one accepted offer for assignment. Other open offers are closed when the driver is selected.

Community offers

Send one job to an approved driver or partner community when a wider pool should see the opportunity. The offer remains traceable to the reservation while dispatch reviews responses and chooses coverage.

Direct assignment

Choose a known linked driver and assigned fleet vehicle without waiting for an open-offer round. The driver receives the pre-assigned job and confirms it through the driver workflow before final assignment.

Flash assignment

Enter an ad-hoc driver name, vehicle plate, TLC license number, email, and driver amount. Live TLC driver and vehicle checks must pass before assignment. If another driver is assigned, the company sees the warning and the prior assignment is revoked and replaced.

Replacement and communication stay visible

When Flash replaces an existing assignment, E-BookNow records the replacement, closes prior offers, removes the old active assignment, informs the company, and sends the new driver an email with the ride and verified TLC details when applicable. Registered drivers whose assignment is revoked are also notified, keeping the operational record aligned with the people involved.

Choosing a workflow

Match the assignment type to the operating situation

Offers create choice, direct assignment uses a known linked driver, and Flash handles immediate ad-hoc coverage with required live verification.

Planned coverage

Use driver or community offers when there is time to collect responses and compare availability before selecting the final driver.

Known driver and vehicle

Use direct assignment when the driver is already linked to the company and the appropriate persisted fleet vehicle is known.

Urgent outside coverage

Use Flash when an ad-hoc driver must be assigned quickly. The final button stays unavailable until the live TLC driver and vehicle check passes.
